Do you ever wish Life was simpler? More joyful, peaceful and fulfilling? Have you ever felt a sense of restlessness inside of you? A “knowing” that you were meant for more than your current circumstance? How often are you curious about your Life's purpose or the meaning of Life in general?
Many people look to others and search throughout the world for answers to these questions. Unbecoming invites readers to shift that journey from "elsewhere in the world" to within you. It encourages self-discovery, vulnerability and critical thinking to let go of what no longer serves us, activate our creative power as spiritual beings and manifest greater levels of life experiences.
A huge proponent of Abraham Maslow and his Hierarchy of Needs, Rowen leverages his psychology motivation model for her book's structure. Additionally, she takes her 14 years of experience in a Fortune business and applies the model to leadership and organizational culture.
Unbecoming started as a journal where Rowen could capture her life’s truths and the lessons she’s discovered so far to pass them along to her children, their children, family and friends. Beyond that, she decided to publish this work with the hope that even more people can be helped to find clarity, peace and joy.
Unbecoming is one way Rowen helps the world change Life’s question from “What am I getting?” to “Who am I Becoming?”
Rowen’s Journey
It started with a calling…
“Master your mind. only then can you master your spirit”
About Rowen
Rowen Labuguen Turner is a Fortune 5 trained Business Leader, Leadership & Culture Innovator, Real Estate Investor, and Author of Unbecoming.
As a Filipina-American, Rowen was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where her immigrant parents and grandparents instilled in her the importance of Faith, Family, and Education. Church and family gatherings are key memories of her childhood. Leadership is also a big part of Rowen’s life. She has consistently taken on leadership roles since she was 8, ranging from student ministry to student government. This led to formal roles in business, as well as informal leadership roles within her community. Having been raised in a relatively strict home, Rowen doesn’t recall what interested her about becoming a leader. But as she grew older, taking on leadership activities became an effective way to get outside-of-school time with her friends and along with her education and social awareness, led to her being the effective leader she is today.
Rowen has a BA in Biology and a MBA with an emphasis in Corporate Strategy from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. For about 14 years, she focused her energy within the Human Resources arena. She currently serves as Chief Purpose & Operating Officer for The Multifamily Mindset, a real estate business consulting company. Her greatest impact lies in leading teams to achieve breakthrough and sustainable results through leadership and culture transformation. Additionally, she serves other leaders and entrepreneurs through her coaching and consulting business.
Before to her Filipino background and Hawaiian upbringing is her love for great food and the outdoors. While Rowen is a “social butterfly,” she values connection time with loved ones and regular, quiet-minded “me” time. She is fascinated with self-development, specifically with how the body, mind, and spirit are interconnected and how we can apply that knowledge as individuals to morph our current reality and create our dream lives. She is also focused on applying that knowledge to leaders within organizations so that their team members can learn and do the same.
Rowen’s mission is to change the world by transforming Life’s question from “What am I getting?” to “Who am I Unbecoming?.” Her greatest message is to encourage others to connect with their spirit self and to explore an active and intentional relationship with God.
Rowen currently lives in San Diego, California with her husband Marcus and their two sons, Myles (5) and Jett (2).
